Our Story

Where the worlds of prisons, the arts and business collide, magic can happen. Our team from these different worlds met, networked and began to share stories in admiration of prisoners who had taken the initiative and helped themselves, including:

• David – took any plastic he could find to craft into works of art, such as plastic flowers
• Martin – shocked by the deaths of cyclists on London streets, created a back-pack to indicate a cyclist’s next turn to following drivers
• Jane – writes and performs her own songs and has appeared on BBC Radio 4

We realised that whilst some prisoners can ‘strike their own spark’ to discover and develop their embryonic gifts alone, others need a guiding hand.
